Welcome to the Hockey Group of South Florida!

"Your hockey home for those who love the game"

Our goal is to expose as many players as possible to the great game of ice hockey!

The Hockey Group of South Florida was founded on the principle that every player has value and that at the end of the day, hockey is after all, just a game! We are an organization that prides itself on being INCLUSIVE, rather than the majority of organizations out there who are exclusive.  This is not to say we aren't competitive, on the contrary. Those players who are part of the Hockey Group family 'get it' and realize that there is much more to life than just hockey. Our focus is on the joys hockey has brought us: The friendships we have made along the way; the feeling you have when you score your first goal; passing along your knowledge of the game to help someone excel; or the sense of pride that comes when you set up another player who scores a game winning goal. This is why we play hockey!! It is the little victories on the ice that keeps us coming back for more.

We have several different options available plus a look at some teams from our past, so why not take a look and come on out and join our family.

News!

  •  The Hockey Group of South Florida is pleased to announce it's 5th Annual Summer League at Glacier Ice and Snow. The Spring-Summer session of Girl's Night Out Hockey will run from May 5th -- August 25, 2008. We will be playing on Monday nights at 8:05 & 9:15 PM. To see what we are all about, please click here.

  • Results from the 3rd FWHL tournament in Orlando on January 11-13th are in....both the Lucky Pucks AND the Luck Stars took first place this weekend. The Lucky Pucks defeated the Tampa Elite (another team who competes at the National level & has been one of the top 3 teams in the nation 2 years running.) This is a team the Pucks had never beaten before, and they did so with a resounding 5-2 victory to win the gold. Who would have thought that 2 teams that had never even played together before would become such a dominating force in the FWHL. Well done Ladies!!

  • Results from the 2nd FWHL tournament held in Kissimmee on December 7-9, 2007 are in.....WE BEAT THE PALM BEACH PREDATORS 5-3 !!! This is a B team that competes on a National level & we just flat out took it to them!! I have never been so happy for a group of women in my life! Not bad for a bunch of 'misfits' huh?? Karen, this one was for you baby!! (Oh yeah....I believe we won the tournament, but who cares....We beat the Preds!)

    • Also, the Lucky Stars competed for the first time in this tournament.....if they would have had a goalie, they would have won the whole thing, but I am impressed none the less by your outstanding team effort this weekend....job well done ladies! PS: Nice hat trick against the Barracudas Renata!

  • Results from the 1st FWHL tournament in Jacksonville on October 5-7, 2007 are in.....the Lucky Pucks came in fourth (after someone said to have a shoot out!) out of a field of 10 teams. Not bad for a team who had played together for the first time that weekend.....way to go Ladies!!

  • The Hockey Group of South Florida is pleased to announce that we will now have TWO ways of promoting women's hockey in South Florida: 1) We will continue our year 'round house league and 2) we will also have two travel teams who will compete in the FWHL on the C and Rec levels -- The Lucky Pucks & the Lucky Stars!!

  • We are also pleased to announce that John Rosplock will be organizing the travel program. For those who do not know John, he coached the Florida Beaches C team and was an assistant coach to their Rec Team. John is a level 3 coach and has coached women's hockey for more than 4 years now. He got his start as a coach for a women's team in Wisconsin, which is where John is originally from. He currently plays hockey in Lake Worth on Monday nights and he looks forward to seeing all of you on and off the ice. John will be a tremendous asset to the Hockey Group family!

Please check back often as more information is to follow regarding the new Lucky Pucks Travel organization.
